Get ready to learn.

Hey, its Joss,

Let's talk about dance.

How often do you enjoy dancing, I mean enjoy dancing, without feeling like you are stuck?

For the first 3 years of my dancing, I have been stuck without seeing much improvement.

A bunch of new people came, and some became better than me.

But in reality, it was only my point of view or what I thought.

Today, it's different.

I dance and enjoy more than ever without feeling stuck.

It doesn't matter with whom I dance. I still manage to enjoy and have fun.

So what did change?

Just one thing.

Self-awareness.

What????

Yep, that's it.

The more aware I became of my dance, the more I could adjust and enjoy a dance.

It doesn't matter if it is kizomba, bachata, or salsa.

I manage to dance and have fun with what I know.

So here are some tips for you to get you on the enjoyment part:

  1. Don't take it so seriously.
  2. Listen to your body, since we all have different body types.
  3. Dance with everyone that you can. This will help you understand different types of people and gain more experience.
  4. Don't wait for them to ask, ask yourself.
  5. Be open-minded, don't stick to one dance style, learn more than one.
  6. Put your attention to the person you're dancing with.
  7. Smile as you sway.

The simple tips above helped me enjoy dancing more often, and I hope they will help you start enjoying more and more of your dancing.

You will also see the person you are dancing with enjoy with you.

Steps & Style

Hey, I have been dancing for around 10 years and been teaching for around 7 years. I am passionate about helping others grow. Through experience, I learn to understand that everyone is different and as a teacher you need to be able to adapt if you want to help each individual grow. So, that is why my focus is to teach you to become a better leader or follower. It's my pleasure to e-meet you. See you around. My focus is on Mkiz which is a Kizomba fusion. If you want to learn Mkiz online, go to Mkiz.dance. If you want to learn Mkiz in Curaçao in person, stick around or schedule a private lesson with me, a Mkiz ambassador and teacher.
